Customising your windows operating system
With so many operating system options to choose from, it is difficult to decide which parts of the system to customise and which ones to leave alone. We are going to provide information on the parts of the operating system that we believe would have the most user impact.
Changing the windows theme

A windows theme contains a variety of different components that all work together to give you the overall feel of your computer. A theme will usually include the following
  • Desktop background
  • Window colour
  • Windows sounds
  • Screensaver
  • Cursor type and style

So how do you change the theme I hear you ask? Well here are the steps to do it via control panel
  1. Click on the start menu
  2. search for Control panel or locate control panel on the start menu
  3. Click on appearance and personalization
  4. Click personalization at the top
  5. All of the themes are displayed inside the scroll window and now can be selected. By default windows 7 and 10 both have high contrast themes and usual themes such as the windows 7 default theme.
  6. Once you have chosen your desired theme you can close the control panel and your PC should now be using the specified theme you clicked on.
Changing the windows cursor

The windows cursor is again something that you (the user) can change to suit your preferences.
